SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS!

Middle Tennessee Mathematics Teachers will again offer two $1000 scholarships to preservice mathematics teachers who are student teaching. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and teaching expenses (such as classroom supplies) incurred while student teaching. The award also provides an annual membership in NCTM, TMTA, and (MT)2.

Candidates for the award must be eligible to student teach during the 2007-2008 academic year and must be either: 1) an undergraduate seeking licensure in secondary mathematics, or 2) an undergraduate with a mathematics emphasis seeking licensure in elementary or middle school education.

Applications are due in the semester before student teaching. The deadline for students who will be student teaching in the Fall is April 15. The deadline for those who will student teach in the Spring is October 15. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. 

Announcement of scholarship recipients will be made in the last month of the semester before the applicant begins student teaching.
